Phishing on the increase?
Apparently 89.5 per cent of all viruses scanned in August were classified as phishing malware. But SoftScan believes this is a result of improved or additional detection by antivirus scanners, rather than any real increase in the number of phishing emails distributed.

I installed IE 7 release candidate 1 on my computer running Winxp service pack 2 recently. IE 7 allows you to turn on the phishing filter. When I was accessing descriptions of some items on Ebay the phishing filter would pop up. I sent an e-mail to Ebay to explain what had happened but got one of their standard letters about various e-mail scams – nothing about phishing!
