A new security tool
has been launched by the guys behind Spyware Doctor. Threat Expert provides rapid, detailed descriptions and analysis of the behavioural effects and changes that malware makes to a computer on infection.
The site is able to 'trick' a threat into communicating across a simulated network and recording its behaviour in minutes.

0 day in Windows XP
A new 0-day flaw has been reported in a system component of Windows XP. The flaw could allow an attacker to execute code on a target system but there is currently no fix for the vulnerability.

Social network ads hit by trojan
Users of social networking sites including MySpace, Bebo and PhotoBucket have been warned about a Trojan hidden within adverts.
It turns out adverts from the Right Media online ad exchange were unknowingly infected with the Downloader.VBS.Agent.n Trojan.
ScanSafe estimates that up to 12 million ads may have been delivered, exposing a large number of users to the Trojan.
