94 million TJX records stolen
Banks are claiming that the data breach at retailer TJX actually affected 94 million consumers, rather than the 46 million customers TJX claimed.
Massachusetts and Connecticut Bankers Associations, claims 65 million Visa account numbers and 29 million MasterCard account numbers were stolen.

BT plugs Home Hub hack
BT has filled a security hole in its Home Hub service which could allow hackers to take control of the internet router.
The company has bypassed the problem by removing the Remote Assistance feature that allows BT admin staff to take control of the device.

Pump_and_dump.mp3
Experts are warning that there is a new brand of spam on the market and this one comes in a tin marked 'MP3'.
Spammers are now attaching mp3 files to their emails, containing a 30 second pump and dump type message. They're banking on the fact that antivirus scanners don't actually check the content of the file. Sneaky.

SpamTube
Spammers are exploiting YouTube to send out huge quantities of spam.
Spammers have set up a large number of bogus YouTube accounts to forward on spam using the 'Invite Your Friends' feature of the site.

Botnets shrinking
Botnets are apparently shrinking, with herders seeking to fly in under the radar of corporate network defences. These guys say they are also being rented out for as little as $100 for a few hours.
